Our Why

Graduating from Georgia Tech in 2001, our founder had a passion for technology and history. The technology came easy, but history was a bit of a challenge. You get what you pay for in this world, and as with many subjects in the modern world the devil is in the details. You can read history from a book, but getting the real story if what happened involves a lot more research and thoughtful consideration than just picking up a book.

Bottom line, after 20 years in industry, we realized the world isn’t learning from history. We set out to change this, in the only way we knew how, from the ground up. Starting with a Youth Aviation Program at PDK airport, we built a strong foundation within a non-profit structure for empowering and teaching our next generation. Once ‘Tink’ was back in the air, we turned our focus to drones, and more specifically boats, because it’s a lot cheaper for 90% of the learning curve.

At SOF Week in Tampa 2026, we realized we’re on the right track, as we saw a huge conference center filled with drones, exactly like the ones we had been experimenting with. This led to a summer internhip program where Virginia Tech engineers designed and build ‘v2’ of our kayak platform, and made significant progress with our jetski controls.
